Located on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Middle East, Israel borders Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, to mention only the main bordering countries.
Few places on earth stir up passion the way that Israel does:
- Admiration for the beauty of its natural landscapes, such as the Dead Sea, the green valleys and hills of the Israel National Trail, and the multi-coloured canyon of Makhtesh Ramon
- Religious devotion of the Jews, Christians and Muslims who come here to visit the religious sites of the Holy Land: those on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem are among the most revered in the world, but there’re also Christ's tomb, the Wailing Wall, etc.
- And, of course, a heated debate, since visitors will rarely leave without encountering the country’s complex politics.
There are also plenty of ways to relax in Israel, such as the cafes, bars and beaches of cosmopolitan Tel Aviv, or the wineries of the Galilee. The capital, Jerusalem, is one of the main pilgrimage destinations in the world. You can walk where prophets did, pray inside buildings that were built under the orders of caliphs and kings, spend the night in hospices where the Crusaders and cardinals also slept. Walking in Jerusalem is a sensorial and spiritual experience like no other.
